SBPF RE-EXAMINING OFFSHORE SAND DREDGING
During the winter of 2016/2017, the Siasconset Beach Preservation Fund (SBPF)'s and the Nantucket Planning & Economic Development Commission are working on a plan to dredge sand from shoals off the east shore of Nantucket. That sand would be used to keep SBPF's geotextile tubes — protecting 852 feet of Sankaty Bluff — covered and sand flowing into the littoral system.
